In Sanctuary, you can fight World Bosses, complete Nightmare Dungeons, and complete Helltide events to get the Black River Scythe. Scythes can drop from any activity if they’re on World Tier 3 or higher. Nightmare Dungeons are a great place to go when trying to find a unique like the Black River Scythe. If you take out enemies and open containers around the map, you can always get a rare drop in Diablo 4.
Diablo 4 Black River Scythe Effect
In the Necromancer class, the Black River Scythe is a great way to increase the Corpse Explosion ability. With the Scythe, the Corpse Explosion will consume up to four additional corpses around the original corpse. Depending on your stats, the explosion will deal more damage and have a larger radius for each corpse.

Aside from the standard effect, the Black River Scythe also has a lot of great affixes. The main affix is life-on-kill, with supporting stats such as increased ranks for Corpse Explosion. In other words, when using the explosion Necromancer build, you don’t want to miss out on this weapon.
