“Seaweed” is a short underwater adventure created with PICO-8 for the Rainbow Game Jam 20 over the period of 2 weeks with the theme “Strength in Numbers” over a period of 2 weeks. The game requires you to help your human ally escape the facility by collecting fish, which you can use to strike switches and attack enemies. You must also assist your Nereid Kleio as she tries to free you from the facility but faces her own obstacles. Through the fish, you can also unlock caged creatures with special abilities that will help you traverse deeper into the facility and overcome specific obstacles.
I’m very impressed with the graphics design of this PICO-8 game created in two week no less! I also like the inventory mechanics. I would like to see this game extended, for my selfish pleasure of course!. – Donnie, Editor, GF

You play as Kleio, a Nereid trapped in an underwater facility in Seaweed, a short underwater adventure game developed by DragonXVI for Rainbow Game Jam 2020. It is a solo game without any diversifiers. Your goal is to escape the facility and find your way back to the ocean with the help of a human scientist and captive sea creatures.
Using your wits and the abilities of your sea creature companions, you must overcome a variety of challenges and advance through the facility. Seaweed is a charming and challenging game with a heartwarming storyline.
