Among the best games RoboCop has ever starred in, RoboCop: Rogue City isn’t difficult to surpass, but fans are sure to be excited about the thrills it delivers. With a lengthy original story, fun references, and plenty of cheesy humor, this first-person shooter swings for the fences with a love for the films and a good understanding of its protagonist. Unfortunately, like the franchise’s vision of Detroit, Rogue City is rough around the edges, resulting in a flawed hero that remains entertaining.
A cyborg known as Alex Murphy finds himself pulled in numerous directions between RoboCop 2 and 3. Detroit’s top gangs have been rallied by a mysterious figure known as “The New Guy” to wreak havoc for an unknown sinister motive. As Omni Consumer Products’ (OCP) supremely unlikable corporate stooge Max Becker believes RoboCop and the police are ineffective relics of the past, the police department is under the thumb of Max Becker. As well as a snooping journalist seeking your help in exposing OCP secrets, a doctor eager to learn more about what makes you tick, and a new rookie partner who is an OCP informant, there are a number of smaller threads vying for RoboCop’s attention.
