Developed by Sega, Golden Axe III was released on the Sega Mega Drive in Japan on June 25, 1993. The North American version is only available on Sega Channel. A number of re-releases followed, including the Sega Genesis Collection for PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable, Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and the Sega Genesis Classics collection for the Wii Virtual Console.
