Enshrouded, the newest unfortunately-timed survival game, is a lot more “Breath of the Wild” than “Pokemon.” This means a hand-crafted world with plenty of shortcuts waiting to be taken advantage of, one of which requires an early game grappling hook.
First, Make Sure You Have a Workbench
More advanced crafting recipes, like the Grappling Hook, require a Workbench to make. The Workbench is very simple to craft, requiring just 3 String and 8 Wood Logs. String can be made from Plant Fibers which are obtained by looting plants and bushes. Wood logs are found by hacking at trees with your axe.
