The best way to beat Axel and Orserk
Level 40 is recommended for this boss fight, as it’s near the end of the tech tree, and will require some of the best gear and pals. You might consider increasing your level to Level 46 if you’re having trouble with this boss. The Hyper Shield, Assault Rifle, and Pal Metal Armour and Helm will unlock key Technology breakpoints that will make this fight easier, as well as boost your stats. At this level, it is best to defeat Lv. 40+ Alpha Pals either in dungeons or outside.

Take advantage of double-barreled shotguns
In this fight, you can use a Double-barreled Shotgun at Level 39, as this weapon is perfect for fighting Axel’s Orserk, since he likes to attack up close. If you cannot keep your distance, you can use a Single-shot Rifle. It’s important to stockpile ammo for these weapons. Fortunately, there are a lot of sulfur mining nodes right beside the boss. As long as you have enough coal and refined ingots, you shouldn’t run out of ammo.

Additional Damage Can Be Done By Shooting Axel
It is the weak point of Axel and Orserk that deals additional damage when targeted. This damage will appear as an orange color and an increase in font size. Axel must always be the target of your shots when using a ranged weapon.

Pals with ground or ice-type attacks are useful
If you want to quickly defeat Axel, use Pals that have strong moves like Frost Breath or Earth Impact, as Orserk is weak to both Ground and Ice-type attacks. Pals with Ice and Ground types will also resist Dragon and Electric-type attacks, so you can easily tank hits and deal more damage than Orserk can deal.

Stay Safe Behind Pillars at a Distance
You can dodge and avoid incoming ranged attacks by using the pillars inside the arena to intercept Orserk’s attacks. Use pillars as cover to dodge incoming attacks.
Make your pal’s stats better
There are multiple strong passive skills that can be used in this fight to increase damage dealt and decrease damage taken. Those who are looking for offensive options can choose Coldblooded and Power of Gaia, which both boost Ice and Ground damage, while Dragonkiller and Insulated Body reduce Dragon and Electric damage.
The Statue of Power can also be used to upgrade a Pal’s stats. By sacrificing a Pal Soul, you can either increase their Max HP, Attack, Defense, or even their Work Speed. A percentage-based stat boost means that Pals with high base stats will benefit more from this than Pals with low stats.
Teach Your Pals Ice or Ground Moves With a Skill Fruit
Any Pal can be taught the Ice or Ground Element attack by feeding it a Skill Fruit. These can be found on Skill Fruit Trees scattered around the overworld.
