Although Palworld has elements similar to an MMO (i.e, a Massively multiplayer Online game), it doesn’t fit the full technical definition of an MMO. It’s easy to see why people might think that because it has elements that fit in with survival and crafting.

Here are some reasons why Palworld isn’t an MMO
- Player interaction: The primary focus of an MMO is large numbers of players interacting with the game’s persistent online world. Palworld focuses primarily on single-player, with some co-op activities available.
- Server structure: A massively multiplayer online game (MMO) uses large, persistent servers to host hundreds of players simultaneously. Palworld primarily uses single-player servers, with an option for online multiplayer.
- Economy: A multiplayer online game is usually a player-driven experience, with complex auction houses and trading systems. Palworld has a primarily single-player economy and limited online trading options.
- World size: In Palworld, you will find smaller, instanced maps with progression-based exploration, in contrast to an MMO game that has vast, open regions with ongoing game activity.
