While the original Helldivers may have been released back in 2015, it still sees a surprisingly large number of players due to its inclusion with PlayStation Plus. Is the sequel going to be available on day one, or do we need to buy it before we try it?

If you’re hoping to give Helldivers 2 a whirl before making a purchase, you’ll be out of luck — it isn’t included with any tier of PlayStation Plus. You’ll need any tier of PlayStation Plus if you’re hoping to partake in its multiplayer shenanigans on console, but there are no plans to bring this particular shooter to the subscription service anytime in the future. That doesn’t mean that we won’t have the chance to see it on there sometime in the future, but it just won’t be available on day one. Thankfully, for those hoping to find a budget-friendly shooter that is current-gen only, Helldivers 2 retails for $39.99 rather than the standard $70, so it’s easier to afford for all types of gamers.
