Rarities in Skull and Bones determine the value and strength of an item. Here are the different rarities in the game and how they differ from one another:

Weapons and Armor Rarity
Weapons and armor in Skull and Bones provide your ship with offensive and defensive power. Their rarities determine how powerful and useful they are! In general, weapons and armor that have a higher rarity provide better offenses and defenses for your ship. They’re a bit harder to get but they’re very much worth it!
Provisions Rarity
Provisions increase your ship’s and crew’s survivability when you’re out voyaging on the rough seas. Just like with weapons, their rarities can tell you how good they are as an item. The higher the rarity of a provision is, the better it repairs and heals your ship. It also restores more stamina to your crew!
Commodities Rarity
Finally, the rarity of a commodity determines its selling price to the merchants. Commodities that are rarer and more valuable fetch for a higher price compared to their common counter parts.
