Aside from puzzles and mysteries, Alone in the Dark is also brimming with hidden items known as the Lagniappes. They unlock extra info, special items and even new endings if you complete all sets, which is a daunting but not impossible task.

There are 45 Lagniappes in total in the game, some of them being exclusive to a certain protagonist. You have to play through the game twice to get all of them and get the whole picture of what’s happening in Derceto. If you missed a Lagniappe or two in your first playthrough, it’ll be there for you in the second one (as long as it’s not character-exclusive). Completing a set can unlock special endings and scenes, as well as unique items.
