It feels like we already know a lot about Alan Wake 2: since it was announced, we’ve had a few waves of news about the highly-anticipated sequel. While attending Summer Games Fest, I managed to speak with two of the lead developers about the title, and we found out that there’s some interesting Remedy/Max Payne history in the game. There will be music to look forward to in the game, which is inspired by Control’s ‘ashtray maze’, and the game is the result of four other failed attempts to bring Alan back to our screens (and hearts). With the recent delay in mind, there’s still a lot we don’t know about it. The author’s foray into reality still remains a mystery… until today. There hasn’t been a lot of gameplay shown (mostly just ‘vibes’ to go on at the moment), and much of the title’s foray into reality remains a mystery.
A new tease from the game was shown at Gamescom Opening Night Live – also called ONL – that finally revealed some previously obscure aspects of the game (no pun intended). Our focus is finally on Alan and his (mis)adventures in the Dark Place for the first time since the game’s marketing beats began.
