Getting to Chapter 2 in Dave the Diver requires progressing with Duff. Once you complete the quest to build the Sea People Translator, you will be able to use Duff’s app. After you get all the weapon blueprints you need, you won’t be able to upgrade them right away.
With the escape key, select Duff’s Weapon Store at the top right of your boat’s phone to permanently upgrade your weapons. Upgrades require more than some gold to build, but you can upgrade weapons you have already built with blueprints.
