In the Palworld Pal Pathfinding Bug, a Pal’s pathfinding protocol is disorientated, preventing it from performing autonomous Base Tasks or even eating at feed boxes. Additionally, this bug can make Pals “clip” into certain environmental objects, resulting in them becoming trapped in certain corners or preventing them from moving.

Several Possible Solutions to the Palworld’s Pathfinding Bug
A number of known issues regarding the Pal Pathfinding Bug have been fixed since the release of the v0.1.4.0 Patch Update last January 31, 2024. When Pals perform autonomous tasks at your base, you should see an improvement and they should no longer get stuck in a variety of places.
Build your Facilities Further Apart
The best way to fix this bug is to make sure your base is properly spaced out, so Pals do not have to pass through tight corners and get stuck.

Flat areas are best for building your base
Pals are forced to find alternate routes to reach their work stations because of the pathfinding bug. By building your base on a flat surface, you can minimize the chances that your base will fall off nearby cliffs or spawn in inconvenient locations.

Don’t be afraid to pick up and throw your pal
Occasionally, all your Pal needs is a helping hand to get out of a tricky situation. Throw them at their workstations or back towards your base to reset their pathing and hopefully resolve the trouble.

Your Pal Box can be used to reassign your pal
To despawn your stuck pal, move it from “Pals at the base” to any of your boxes. Once you have re-assigned it to the base duties, it will appear in front of the Pal Box again. As soon as the Base AI Fix and Pathfinding Improvements are confirmed for the next update, players no longer need to worry about the Pal Pathfinding Bug.
