Sands of Siberia, the most important mod for the classic RTS Original War, has received version 1.6. It brings the Ares campaign to completion, offering, among other things, five new story missions.
Original War is a beloved RTS. The game is now 23 years old, but it’s still worth revisiting, not least because of the excellent Sand of Siberia mod. This ambitious fan project has just received version 1.6.
We waited a long time for this update – after all, the previous edition (1.5.4a) was released in April 2022. It was worth it, though, as the 1.6 release brought a ton of changes and new features. The most important of these are:
- Added final 5 missions of the Ares campaign.
- Added 80 Character biographies for characters from all campaign nations.
- Added 4th difficulty level.
- Added rally point for vehicles produced in the factory.
