Homeworld 3 is a strategy about building mighty fleets. You can be the best strategist, but if you don’t have ships to back it up, you will not win. That is why building a proper army is very important. However, you can’t do it without limits. There is a population cap, which blocks you from creating hundred of units. Let’s talk about it.
Population Cap in Homeworld 3 Explained
It may not be visible at the first glance, but there are 2 Population caps:
- Family cap – It is a general restriction. It works at the unit group level (for example Corvette or Frigate). If your Frigate cap is 50, you will not be able to build more ships of this kind, even if your unit cap is not full. It means that if you have 15 of Assault, Ion and Suppression Frigates each (45 in total), you will be able to build only 5 of Support and Mine Frigates (up to 50).
