How to Fix the Guild Save File Deletion Bug in Palworld
Consult the Troubleshooting Guide
Please consult Palworld‘s official English Q&A document for answers to problems related to multiplayer in 4-2. Troubleshooting in Multiplayer section for solutions to issues found in multi-player. The following method is recommended to be used in conjunction with Palworld’s official English Q&A document.
Multiple Guild-Related Causes
When trying to join the guild’s dedicated server, players may experience save file corruption in the form of an indefinite loading screen. Among the probable causes of this bug are:
You can leave a guild (this will affect offline server members). It is necessary to change the Guild Master to an offline member who doesn’t yet have access to the dedicated server.
Backup and Delete Saves
It is important to note that you will lose all your saved progress, including your Pals and items saved in Palboxes. Your progress will have to be regained from scratch. Ask your fellow members for help to get you back on track!
Rejoin with Fresh Saves
Follow these steps with the server host.
- The backup player saves by copying the folders located in the following locations:
There may be more than one folder in AppData > Local > Pal > Saved > SaveGames > (number sequence) > Players > (numbers).sav
A created world can be identified in Windows Explorer by sorting with Date modified in the SaveGames folder based on the time you created it. - Then, delete all .sav files within the Players folder after copying all player saves.
- Make sure that the affected players log in and create a new account on the server
- It is recommended that the server host compares the IDs of current and backup .sav files in their Players folder, identifies corrupted files, and removes them.
Using the Date modified sorting, you may be able to identify newly saved game data in order to prevent unaffected players from losing progress. - When you are done with step 4, drop back in any .sav files you have previously backed up.
As soon as you have completed these steps, your members will be able to access and join the dedicated server.
